Get involved and help us celebrate the 2019 UCI Road World Championships coming to Yorkshire!
This September, the 2019 UCI Road World Championships will be hosted in Yorkshire, bringing the world’s best cyclists whizzing past your door! Coming to Britain for the first time in over 30 years, the championships will be eight days of exciting competition from the 22nd to 29th September. For the first time ever, UCI selected an Official Fundraising Partner for the event and we’re really proud to announce that Leeds Cares was chosen.
How can your community get involved?
Our partnership with 2019 UCI Road World Championships aims to benefit everyone and we’d love you to get involved to help us make that happen! We are looking for community groups across Yorkshire to volunteer during this awesome event – to help with street collections, meeting and greeting, putting up banners and posters as well as driving and other things in your local community
To register to become a Leeds Cares volunteer, just visit our website and search ‘UCI Get Involved’.
If you’d also like to fundraise as a group, we have some great materials on our website available to download – making it really easy to organise your own fundraising event.
Who are Leeds Cares?
Leeds Cares is the charity partner of Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Our vision is for a healthier world where everyone can access exceptional healthcare. From the heart of Yorkshire, we bring caring people together to enable the best possible health and wellbeing for all of our communities.
Our hospitals welcome patients from right across Yorkshire, and in some cases, right across the North of England! We want to capture that welcoming spirit and invite you to join us in celebrating the championships!
Every penny raised during the event will be used to fund new health and wellbeing projects here in Yorkshire, from new equipment to programmes that help patients get back into exercise.
