I am currently a member of both the Bradford and District and Ilkley U3A’s.
This was due to my request to join the Ilkley recorder group causing great angst due to my “not being a member”. I have now approached the Craven recorder continuers group, have attended a taster session and treated most hospitably by all there. The same condition that I join the Craven U3A (cost £24) has been made again.
I am happy to pay what are relatively small amounts and great value for money and would ask that my query as to whether I am in fact covered by “Westnet” provision, not to be viewed in any way as a complaint!! Far from it as I am delighted at the wealth of classes available. I have moved from a much smaller group in Hinckley (Leicestershire) where much lower cost, Associate membership applied in such a case. I realise that every U3A has it’s own arrangements but was interested to clarify as I am trying to encourage others to join who would likely wish to spread over different groups. many thanks, Barbara Newman
