To whom it may concern,
My name is Brigita Brazauskiene and I am a 2nd year PhD student at the University of Hertfordshire. I am currently running an online survey about everyday memory errors across the lifespan of healthy adults and was wondering if there would be any possibility to advertise my study through U3A? I am quite aware that the U3A is a very large organisation and already contacted U3A World for study advertising in the Signpost and the editor kindly agreed to help. However, in trying to reach as many people as I can, I thought it would also be worth to try and contact different regions of U3A UK. I have also collaborated with a few local U3A networks in Hertfordshire (Potters Bar and St. Albans) for my first diary study and received great support as well as good feedback. My online study will not require any person to enter any of their personal/identifiable details. All they would be required to do is to spend 30-40 minutes answering questions in an online survey about how often they experience different types of memory errors and how often would they expect people in different age groups to experience those as well. All the examples of memory errors within the survey are real examples from my previous diary study of memory errors in everyday life of healthy adults.
Note: this study is available to anyone aged 18 and over with no upper limit. The person needs to have sufficient proficiency in the English language.
My question is this: Would you be able to assist me in sharing this information about my study with your members? If so, I can send you the study advertising together with a link to the survey for you and the rest of the committee members to consider whether or not to share this with your members. In addition, my main supervisor is Prof Lia Kvavilashvili and if you wanted to, you can enter her name into Google where you will find her website with me listed as her PhD student (I purposely did not provide a link to her website as sometimes it can be treated as a spam).
Please know, that given the situation at the moment with a lot of people still shielding, you probably receive a lot of requests from different Universities to help with recruitment for their online studies and I understand that. Nevertheless, I would very much appreciate any response, even if it is a NO.
Best Regards,
Brigita Brazauskiene
