THE VICTORIAN ERA An Ilkley & District U3A Study Day

To celebrate the bi-centenary of Queen Victoria’s birth, there will be four illustrated presentations plus a selection of Victorian poetry to be heard throughout the day. Details are as follows:
•Arrival & registration plus welcoming remarks from 9:30 am
•The Art of the Victorians with Ann Johnson from 10:10 am
•Coffee & tea break followed by a poetry reading from 11:00 am
•Victorian scientific developments with Mike Pilling from 11:30 am
•Lunch preceded by a poetry reading from 12:15 pm
•Railways & social change with Robin Leleuxfrom 1:15 pm;
•Victorian women novelists with Roger Bainbridge from 2 :30 pm
Our day ends with a plenary session, concluding no later than 4 pm
